About the Event

About this event

We're excited to launch a new, BCRP Signature Event. Bring on Spring is an outdoor festival for the entire family to enjoy! On April 9, join us at Herring Run Park to celebrate spring, parks, spaces, nature, innovation, creativity and sustainable construction. There will be live music, food trucks, outdoor activities and more! Participation in the Maker Challenge is not required to attend.

For Maker Challenge:

We've teamed up with the Maryland Zoo to host a Cardboard Challenge at the Bring on Spring Festival. Showcase your creativity by constructing a 3D cardboard model of your favorite native wildlife animal (a species native to Maryland). Show off your animal at the festival for a chance to win a FREE, Maryland Zoo pass! To participate, carefully read the instructions below and complete the registration form.

WHO: A team of five youth with adult advisors (maximum two adults).

WHAT: Native Wildlife: Cardboard Challenge! Build a 3D cardboard model of a native animal.

WHEN: Bring your projects to our spring fair “Bring on Spring” on Saturday, April 9th, by 10:00AM.

WHERE: Parkside Football Field in Herring Run Park

WHY: To celebrate spring, parks, spaces, nature, innovation, creativity, and sustainable construction!

HOW: Register to participate in the challenge by Friday, March 25, 2022 (two weeks before the event). Follow the established criteria and constraints for the challenge and build your model! Bring your design and your Project Submission Form to the Bring on Spring! Event on April 9, 2022, to participate in a community voting competition. Prizes awarded to first, second, and third-place teams!
